Betclic introduces tax-free gaming. From 11 March, every player can win more

Betclic has introduced a significant change to the products it offers on the Polish market. From 11 March, the 12% tax will not be deducted from the player’s stake and the bookmaker will take it on itself. This allows everyone at Betclic to win more. The new offer of a tax-free gaming solution will be in place until 14 April. This is a bold move by the brand, which is thus once again setting a leadership position for the entire industry and strengthening its business position.

How has it been and how will it be now?

In Poland, there is a 12% tax on stakes in bookmaker bets[1]. This means that in the case of a coupon with a stake of PLN 100, any winnings will be calculated on the basis of a stake of PLN 88. this is because the PLN 12 tax will go, even before the coupon is settled, to the State Treasury.

As of 11 March, Betclic is changing the rules of the betting game. The bookmaker will cover the stake tax in full. In the example above, the basis for calculating winnings will be not PLN 88, but PLN 100.

Betclic’s new tax-free gaming solution runs from 11 March to 14 April. It will cover single and multi bets on all sports, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

New Betclic campaign

In parallel with the new rate tax accounting rules, Betclic is launching a product campaign that includes online and TV activities.

A series of dedicated product (90-, 60-, 30- and 15-second versions) and sponsorship (15-second versions) spots have been created for the campaign, as well as six-second acquisition and bumper ads and a 113-second director’s cut.

The spots depict the protagonist’s relationship with tax collectors throughout history and maintain the brand’s trademark humorous vibe. The production is the responsibility of acclaimed Portuguese directors Joar Marques and Nuno Alberto, whose credits include commercials for Lidl, IKEA, Vodafone and Betclica. Filming was shot on sets in Bulgaria and Romania.

– In terms of scale and production quality, the new campaign stands at an international level, although it is being shot exclusively for the Polish market. We are extremely proud of this project and are delighted that we have been able to involve world-renowned filmmakers who have worked with, among others, one of the best players in the history of football,” adds Bartłomiej Płoskonka.

180heartbeats + JUNG v MATT is responsible for the creative concept of the campaign. The spots were produced by Dobro production studio and 78 Films from Lisbon is responsible for the direction. Media buying is handled by Star Media. The brand is supported in the communication of the project by the K+ PR agency.
