OCEAUNZ – new ball for 2023/2024 playing season

Ekstraklasa and adidas present OCEAUNZ, the new ball for the 2023/2024 competition season.

Oceaunz – this is the name of the tenth official Ekstraklasa ball prepared by adidas. It will go into play in Poland’s top football league from 21 July, when the new season kicks off.

In the production of the Oceaunz ball, adidas has taken care of every detail so as to provide players and fans with the best experience during the games. The ball is not only distinguished by its attractive design, but also by its innovative technology. This ensures excellent ball control, precise flight and optimal performance for accurate passes and shots. The ball is equipped with an advanced motion sensor, which provides real-time information about its position on the pitch.

The new official ball will be used for all 306 matches in the upcoming 2023/2024 season. The day before the start of the competition, the ‘Oceaunz’ ball will also make its debut at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. It is this region of the world that the ball’s graphic patterns depicting mountains connecting to the Indian Ocean and the name are inspired by. It comes from a combination of the terms of three regions: Oceania, Australia and New Zealand.

Adidas has been a partner of Poland’s top football league since 2014 and thus continues its commitment to Polish football. The new ball, like the previous Al Rihl, is available in three variants: the professional match ball Ekstraklasa PRO, the training ball Ekstraklasa TRN and the collectible mini ball Ekstraklasa MIN – also for the youngest fans.

In support of gender equality in football, adidas is donating one per cent of the ball sales to the ‘Global Goal 5 Accelerator’ project. This is a programme to support greater participation of women in football at a local level. The programme also focuses on changing the ratio in favour of female coaches and leaders in community football programmes.
