on 25 August at 18:00 the team of PGE FKS Stali Mielec took on the team of Radomiak Radom at their own stadium at 1 Solskiego Street in Mielec. This meeting was played as part of the 6th round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa.
Coach Kamil Kiereś decided that the match in the starting eleven will start: Kochalski, Esselink, Matras, Ehmann, Getinger, Wlazło, Trąbka, Gerstenstein, Hinokio, Domański and Shkurin.
The matchday squad also included: Jałocha, Jaunzems, Stępień, Guillaumier, Wolkowicz, Meriluoto, Leandro, Rafa Santos, Wolsztynski.
The Radom team started the match with the line-up: Posiadła, Grzesik, Rossi, Cichocki, Abramowicz, L. Semedo, Donis, Luizao, Wolski, E. Semedo and Henrique.
On the substitutes’ bench were: Bąkowski, Cestor, Jakubik, Kaput, Alves, Machado, Castaneda, Leando, Rocha.
The first dangerous action was carried out by Radomiak’s players. In the 17th minute of the meeting Rafał Wolski struck at Mateusz Kochalski’s goal, the ball, heading towards the goal, changed its flight path after bouncing off Esselinek and minimally missed our team’s goal.
The fans did not have to wait long for an answer from the PGE FKS Stali Mielec team. In the 22nd minute of the meeting, the captain of the team from Mielec – Krystian Getinger – decided to make a free kick. The precise pass was used by Bert Esselink, who with a head shot beat the Radomiak Radom goalkeeper. The match referee added six minutes to the first part of the match and it was in the final seconds of added time that a fantastic individual action was carried out by Łukasz Gerstenstein. The youngster was the first to reach the ball, ran with it for more than half the pitch and with a powerful shot scored a goal for the team from Mielec. After the first part of the meeting, the scoreboard read 2:0.
In the second half of the match, exactly in the 54th minute, Castaneda struck at Mateusz Kochalski’s goal, but the ball after his shot missed PGE FKS Stali Mielec’s goal. A minute later, Abramowicz decided to shoot, but the ball hit the post of Kochalski’s goal. A moment later, a fantastic intervention was shown off by our goalkeeper, who defended a very strong strike by a Radomiak Radom player. In the 77th minute, the visitors’ players once again had a chance to score a contact goal, Rocha shot on goal but hit the crossbar.
Until the end of the meeting, neither team scored any more goals and the match ended with PGE FKS Stali Mielec winning 2:0.
