PZU Group- Poland’s largest insurer will continue to support FKS Stal Mielec. After two years of cooperation with the club from the Podkarpacie region, PZU decided to continue it. Just like last year, now our PGE FKS Stal Mielec Academy will participate in the PZU Good Team project.
The PZU Group is close to supporting both amateur and competitive sport as part of its social responsibility. Our country’s largest insurer attaches great importance to promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among children and adults, creating many programmes and initiatives to this end.
– We have been supporting Stal Mielec for two years and our cooperation will continue in the next season as well. The club, which reached the Polish Championship for the first time 50 years ago, is constantly looking after the development of premier league players and young football enthusiasts who want to follow in their footsteps in the future. We appreciate this and are very happy that one of the ambassadors of the PZU Good Team programme is Leandro Messias Dos Santos. We continue to play with Stala Mielec and will continue to support the Pride of the Podkarpacie region, as well as the nearly 300 young players of the Stala Mielec football academy,” says Sylwia Matusiak, board member of PZU Życie.
FKS Stal Mielec S.A. club cares about the development of young talents from our city and region. At the PGE FKS Stal Mielec Academy, over 280 children and teenagers aged 5 to 18 develop their football talents. Under the supervision of qualified coaches, the players improve their skills, which has also been recognised by the staff of PGE FKS Stal Mielec. In the 2022/2023 season, Krystian Kardyś made his debut in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, while Konrad Guca and Adrian Soboń, among others, joined training with the first team.
– This is an important day for us. I would like to thank you for your support so far and for your trust and willingness to continue our cooperation. This continuation shows that the PZU Group sees that the path taken by the club is the right one, and that the agreement concluded will bring benefits to both parties. The support from PZU opens up further opportunities for our Academy to develop further. I believe that thanks to this, PGE FKS Stala Mielec fans will soon be able to see more players from our Academy making their debut in the white and blue colours in PKO BP Ekstraklasa matches. PZU supports not only our Academy, but also the first team, which is the only one to represent our province in the top league. Also this season, thousands of fans at the stadium and in front of their TV sets will be able to see the PZU logo on our players’ shirts, which will increase the PZU Group’s visibility in Poland and around the world,” said Jacek Klimek, President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A.
– In the spring round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa season 2023/2024, FKS Stal Mielec club will celebrate its 85th anniversary. Stal is a sports showcase of our province and a club that has provided many generations of white-blue fans with unforgettable moments and joy. The PZU Group, meanwhile, has been providing Poles with a sense of security for over two hundred years, providing a full insurance package. I would therefore like to thank the PZU Group very much that the cooperation between these two brands, which have been important in our country for many years, will continue. I would like to thank very much the trust and support that is shown to Steel Mielec. Thanks to the help of PZU – the largest financial group in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, the club was able to carry out many initiatives aimed at educating children and young people through sport, which would not have been possible without the help of PZU. The Good Team program created by the PZU Group, in which the PGE FKS Stali Mielec Academy participates, takes care of children and young people, giving them a chance to develop their skills and paves the way towards making their sporting dreams come true. And it is for this recognition of needs, assistance and support for clubs from smaller centres that I want to thank the PZU authorities in a special way. Help from State Treasury Companies in the implementation of such projects is extremely important and significantly increases the chances of their success, and the contract signed today between FKS Stal Mielec and PZU Group motivates our club to further development,” said Tomasz Poręba, a friend of Stal Mielec.
The PZU Good Team programme officially launched on 15 June 2021. It is universal in nature, open to all, especially small athletes with disabilities, and to all sports. Sporting activity is particularly important because it improves the fitness of the youngest, strengthens their resistance to various civilisation diseases, but also develops in them a healthy ambition based on patient, systematic self-work and respect for others in accordance with the spirit of fair play. One of the ambassadors of the programme is a player of PGE FKS Stala Mielec- Leândro Messias dos Santos.
