Meeting with a club legend – Henryk Kasperczak

Today we had the pleasure of hosting another legend of our club at FKS Stal Mielec. Our guest was Mr. Henryk Kasperczak, who came to a meeting with the white-blue fans of Stal at the special invitation of Jacek Klimek – President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A.

– I am very pleased that Mr. Henryk Kasperczak, despite the fact that he lives outside of our country, accepted my invitation to today’s meeting. The fact that he travelled such a long distance between his current home and our stadium shows how close to his heart Stal Mielec and our white-blue fans are. Henryk Kasperczak is an outstanding footballer who won the Polish championship twice with Stal Mielec. More than 200 games in our team show how important a figure Mr Henryk was in the team. It is impossible not to mention his brilliant career with the Polish national team, with which he won a bronze medal at the World Championships and a silver medal at the Olympic Games. As President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A., on behalf of the entire club, I would like to thank you once again for accepting the invitation to meet with our fans who turned up in such large numbers at today’s event – said Jacek Klimek – President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A.

– Thank you Mr. Jacek Klimek for the invitation to today’s event. I am very pleased that so many fans turned up today to meet with me. I would like to start by saying that everything I associate with Mielec is all about positive and happy moments. I have many great memories associated with Stal Mielec, including of course two Polish Championships. I can say that both as a footballer and a coach I feel fulfilled. I won a medal with the Polish national team at the World Championships and the Olympic Games, which will always remain in my memory, but I also had a lot of success as a selector. At the moment I do not foresee a return to the coaching bench, unless as the selector of the Polish national team,” said Henryk Kasperczak.

Jacek Klimek, President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A., and Damian Gąsiewski, Director of Communications and Marketing, presented Mr Stanisław with a replica of his jersey with number 8, and a commemorative trophy to thank him for his place in the history of our club.

Today’s event was the last in a series of meetings with the legends of our club who won the Polish Championship in the 1972/1973 season. In June, during a ceremonial “Business for Stala” meeting, we will summarise the winning of the first Polish Championship by our club.
