It’s time to match the best, i.e. Mielec’s streak without defeat at Solski 1

The last defeat of Stal in Mielec, in the PKO Ekstraklasa, took place in the 23rd round (3 March) of the 2022/23 season, when we succumbed to the Piast Gliwice team 0-2. The streak of 10 matches without defeat started in the return round of the last season – 3 April (26. round, Stal – Jagiellonia Białystok 1-1; Stal – Miedź Legnica 1-1; Stal – Korona Kielce 2-1; Stal – Lechia Gdańsk 0-0; Stal – Warta Poznań 1-0) and continues in the current competition (Stal – Cracovia 2-2; Stal – Piast Gliwice 0-0; Stal – Śląsk Wrocław 3-1; Stal – Radomiak Radom 2-0; Stal – Zagłębie Lubin 4-2).

The longest number of matches without losing a set of points in the top division at the Solski 1 stadium happened to our team six times. The two longest series – 26 and 20 matches in Mielec without defeat for the Stalowcy took place, of course, in both seasons ending with winning the Polish championship (1972/73 and 1975/76), extended by the preceding and following league struggles. Third on that list was 12 games in the 1978/79 season (3rd in the league). The last streak of 11 matches without a win for the visitors was recorded under the coaching leadership of Grzegorz Lato , who returned from 11 years abroad (Belgium, Mexico, Canada) in the 1992/93 season.

We have to believe that with the right motivation from the club’s management, the coaching staff and our fans, which will influence the continued good play of the white-blue footballers, there is a chance to jump onto the box – that’s a minimum of the next three opponents (10th round, Stal – Korona Kielce; 12th round, Stal – Warta Poznan; 15th round, Stal – Górnik Zabrze).

LET’S DO IT TOGETHER!
