Saturday’s meeting between Jagiellonia Białystok and FKS Stal Mielec as part of the 3rd round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa ended with a score of 2:0.
During the post-match press conference, coach Kamil Kiereś summed up the match with the following words:
” Today we played against the champion of Poland, the favourite of this meeting. Białostoczanie won deservedly. We were looking for dependencies, which helped us win in Mielec in the last clash with Jaga. The beginning of the match was not very dynamic on Jagiellonia’s part. In this phase we could have used the counter moment more, we lacked precision. We lost goals too easily. We didn’t fight for the ball at the first goal. We didn’t rebuild the setting and Pululu is a fast player. We tried until the end to change the fate of the match, twice Maciek Domanski looked for shots, but failed to hit the goal. After the break we wasted many moments when we could have played the ball better behind the backs of Jagiellonia’s defenders. The substitutions did not bring us good results. We quickly lost a goal for 2:0 and then a penalty kick was defended by Mateusz Kochalski. Jagiellonia were fuelled by the fact that we were exposed. We lose because we lose goals too easily. In the spring round of last season this did not happen to us. We must look for solutions to the current state of the team. At the moment it is narrow. We need some players who will increase the competition.”
