The Górnik Zabrze team played their first match in the 2024/2025 season against the Lech Poznań team. The Zabrze players, however, cannot count the trip to Poznań as a success, as the meeting ended with a score of 2:0. In the 32nd minute, a goal from a penalty kick was scored by Ishak, and the result of the match in the 90th minute was set by Hotić.

In the 2nd round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa, coach Urban’s team also went to an away match. Górnik’s opponent was Puszcza Niepołomice team. The result of the meeting in the 11th minute was opened by Sánchez, leading his team to the lead. Fans had to wait until the second half of the match for further goals. The equalising goal in the 52nd minute was scored by Kossídis, and a moment later a goal for Górnik was scored by Rasak. Puszcza fans did not have to wait long for an answer from coach Tułacz’s team, as Serafin entered the scoring list as early as the 60th minute. Ultimately, the meeting ended with a score of 2:2.

The Górnik Zabrze team played their first home game in the 2024/2025 season on 2 August. Their opponent was the Pogoń Szczecin team. The meeting ended with Górnik winning 1:0, and the only goal in this match in the 83rd minute was scored by Zahovič, who represented the colours of the team from Szczecin in the past.

In the next game, the Górnik team enjoyed an away win against Radomiak Radom. The goals for the team from Zabrze were scored by Zahovič and Wojtuszek.

on 1 September, coach Jan Urban’s team took on PKO BP Ekstraklasa debutant Lechia Gdańsk at their own stadium. After the final whistle of the referee, however, it was the fans from Gdańsk who could have reasons to rejoice, as the meeting ended with a score of 2:3.

In the 8th PKO BP Ekstraklasa round, Górnik Zabrze again had to accept a loss. This time they faced Motor Lublin in an away match. The only goal in this game was scored in the 49th minute by Simon and after the final whistle of the referee, the score was 1:0 on the board.

on 21 September, the team from Zabrze faced the third of the newcomers – the GKS Katowice team. After two defeats in a row, the players of coach Jan Urban were able to rejoice after the end of the meeting with the 3 points won in the match against GKS. Two goals in this game were scored by Podolski and one by Josema and the match eventually ended with a score of 3:0.

As part of the 10th PKO BP Ekstraklasa round, the Górnik Zabrze team faced Legia Warszawa in an away match. Lukoszek opened the score in the 10th minute from a penalty kick, while the equalising goal in the 35th minute was scored by Pankov. The score remained unchanged until the end of the match and the Górnik team added 1 point to their account.

Before the national team break, the Górnik Zabrze team took on Zagłębie Lubin in their own stadium. The only goal of the game in the 32nd minute was scored by Tomasz Pieńsko and it was the team from Lubin who could rejoice in winning three points.
