The Supervisory Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A. has decided to appoint Jacek Klimek for another term of office as President of the Management Board.
Jacek Klimek has been appointed President of the Management Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A. 22 December 2020. At that time, the team of Stal Mielec occupied the penultimate place in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa table and was struggling with debts of several million euros, which were really threatening the further functioning of the club. During Jacek Klimek’s tenure as President, the Steel Mielec team steadily recorded sporting progress. As the only representative of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Stal Mielec is already playing its fifth consecutive season in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Recent years have also seen the development of the FKS Stal Mielec Football Academy, which currently trains over 350 children from across the region. The culmination of the Academy’s successes was the promotion of the reserve team in the 2023/2024 season to the level of the IV Podkarpackie League.
– Thanks to skilful management, which I would describe as sustainable, President Jacek Klimek has led to the recovery of FKS Stal Mielec S.A. without compromising on the sporting layer. Currently, Stal Mielec is one of only three PKO BP Ekstraklasa clubs to generate a profit and have positive equity and cash flow. In the 2024/2025 season, once again the club has met all the requirements for obtaining a licence. It should be emphasised that President Klimek, through his professional competence and transparent actions, gives this Club great credibility in the eyes of the Club’s sponsors and partners,” emphasises Krzysztof Kapinos, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FKS Stal Mielec S.A. and adds – Taking into account Jacek Klimek’s achievements to date, the choice of President of FKS Stal Mielec is simply obvious.
– I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for their trust. I am very satisfied that the time and work we have put in with the team for the good of FKS Stal Mielec has yielded good results. I would also like to thank all the fans for their support so far, and I hope for further fantastic cooperation,” said Jacek Klimek. – There are further challenges facing the club, which I want to tackle. The priority is to maintain the momentum of sporting progress and organisational development. In this context, I see the acquisition of a strategic investor as an opportunity for further development of FKS Stala Mielec.- he added.
