The porters in the three games played so far in the 2024/2025 season have scored 4 points, recording one win, a draw and a defeat.

From the first meeting of the current season, coach Jens Gustafsson could be very satisfied. The Pogoń Szczecin team started the 2024/2025 season with a home match against Korona Kielce. From the start of the meeting, it was the Porters who prevailed on the turf, creating convenient goal situations for themselves. As early as the 5th minute, Kamil Kiereś decided to shoot with the outside part of his foot, but the ball was deflected by the goalkeeper of Korona. The following minutes of the match saw further attacks from the Szczecin team. Pogoń fans had to wait until the 35th minute for their first goal of the 2024/2025 season, when Efthymios Koulouris scored after a cross into the penalty area. The first half ended 1-0, but two minutes into the second half, Kamil Grosicki sent a shot into the penalty area and Korona’s player blocked it with his hand, resulting in a penalty. Koulouris took the penalty for Pogoń Szczecin with a precise shot on the ground. From the 47th minute of the game, the score was 2-0, but that was not the last word from Szczecin. In the 84th minute, Kacper Łukasiak scored. The meeting ended with a score of 3:0 and it was the Porters’ fans who had reasons to rejoice after the first match of the 2024/2025 season.

In the second round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Pogoń Szczecin travelled to Lubin for an away match against Zagłębie, who had lost to Legia Warszawa in the first round. The most exciting part of the game was the first 45 minutes. In the 17th minute, Efthymios Koulouris opened the scoring, beating the hosts’ goalkeeper with a fantastic strike, after a pass from Kamil Grosicki. Zagłębie fans didn’t have to wait long for Zagłębie’s answer, as just two minutes later Tomasz Pieńko entered the scoring list. The ball went straight into the Porters’ goal after his superb shot from outside the penalty area . However, it was not the last goal of the first half of the match. In the 28th minute, Dawid Kurminowski scored a goal for Zagłębie Lubin from a penalty kick. The first half of the match ended with the score 2:1. In the second 45 minutes, Pogoń Szczecin created several opportunities to score an equalising goal, but for a long time the Zagłębie goalkeeper was reliable. Only in the 83rd minute did the team from Szczecin come out with a counter-attack, and the goal was scored by Patryk Paryzek, who had registered on the pitch a few minutes earlier. The match ended in a 2:2 draw.

As part of the 3rd round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa, the Pogoń team also played an away match. This time the opponent was Górnik Zabrze. The home team could have taken the lead in the first minute, but a shot by Lukas Ambros narrowly missed the Porters’ goal . In the 16th minute, it was the team from Szczecin who came close to scoring. Łukasiak’s shot from distance, however, was off target. The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw. The beginning of the second 45 minutes belonged to Górnik Zabrze, but fans had to wait until the 83rd minute for a goal, when Luka Zahovič shot past the Pogoń goalkeeper. The Szczecin team failed to score an equalising goal and the game ended 1-0.

An exciting match within the 4th round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa is ahead of us. The arbiter of this meeting will be Mr Damian Kos. We believe that Kamil Kieres’ team will be victorious just like in the 2023/2024 season.
