PGE FKS Stal Mielec – ŁKS Łódź [2:1]

On 27 June at 11:00 a.m. PGE FKS Stal Mielec started the first control match before the upcoming 2023/2024 season. The rival of the white-blue team was the PKO BP Ekstraklasa reigning champion ŁKS Łódź.

PGE FKS Stali Mielec coach Kamil Kiereś decided that the match would start from the first minute with: Kochalski, Pajnowski, Getinger, Matras, Ehmann, Rozwadowski, Trąbka, Wlazło, Hinokio, Domański and Kardyś.
On the substitutes’ bench are: Dudek, Leandro, Wolkowicz, Soboń, Guca and three tested players.

Coach Kazimierz Moskal selected the following players for the starting eleven: Kołba, Lorenc, Monsalve, Głowacki, Dankowski, Okhronchuk, Hoti, Łabędzki, Szeliga, Balongo, Janczukowicz.
The matchday squad also included: Kucharski, Glapka, Marciniak, Tutyskinas, Biel, Pirulo, Śliwa, Goncalves, Ibe-Torti and Jurić.

The players from Łódź were the first to have their chance to take the lead. Several seconds after the start of the meeting, Bolongo struck at Kochalski’s goal, but our goalkeeper knocked the ball out for a corner kick. In the 13th minute of the meeting, PGE FKS Stala Mielec players came out with a counter-attack, but they were stopped in the rival’s penalty area at the last moment. After the first quarter of an hour we had a goalless draw. In the 30th minute of the match, Marco Ehmann, making his debut in the blue-and-white colours, opened the score, after Krystian Getinger’s pass, beating ŁKS’ goalkeeper with a head shot. Already 5 minutes later, another offensive action showed our captain, who took advantage of a mistake of the opponent’s defenders and with a shot with his right foot beat the goalkeeper from Lodz. Two minutes before the end of the first part of the match, the arbiter dictated a penalty kick for ŁKS, which was taken by Janczukowicz.

Before the start of the second part of the match, the coach of the blue-and-whites decided to make six changes. Kochalski, Getinger, Trąbka, Rozwadowski, Pajnowski, Kardyś left the pitch and were replaced by: Leo, Dudek, Wolkowicz and 3 test players.

The Lodz team started the second 45 minutes of the match with the following line-up: Tomasz Kucharski – Grzegorz Glapka, Vladyslav Okhronchuk, Adam Marciniak, Artemijus Tutyskinas – Bartosz Biel, Maciej Śliwa, Ricardo Goncalves – Pirulo, Stipe Jurić, Kelechukwu Ibe-Torti.

The first minutes of the second half of the match did not bring many goal situations. In the 66th minute of the match, Kamil Kieres’ players had their chance to increase the score, but a shot from outside the penalty area was handled by the goalkeeper of the visitors. In the 72nd minute of the match Stipe Jurić fired a shot on goal, but Mateusz Dudek was alert between the posts. The PGE FKS Stali Mielec coach decided to make a double substitution, and instead of Hinokio and a tested player, we could see Gucę and Soboń on the pitch.

The result of the meeting did not change and ended with PGE FKS Stali Mielec winning 2:1.
