on 30 July, at 15:00, a match within the 2nd round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa was played by the team of PGE FKS Stali Mielec. The rival of the team led by Kamil Kieres was Piast Gliwice.
The coach of the white-blue team decided that the match would start from the first minute: Kochalski, Pajnowski, Matras, Ehmann, Getinger, Wlazło, Trąbka, Gerstenstein, Domański, Wolkowicz and Shkurin.
The matchday squad also included: Jałocha, Esselink, Stępień, Guillaumier, Hinokio, Meriluoto, Leandro, Rafa Santos, Wolsztynski.
The coach of Piasta Giliwice selected for the starting eleven: Plach, Pyrka, Miguelito, Czerwiński, Katranis, Dziczek, Tomasiewicz, Ameyaw, Chrapek, Felix and Wilczek.
On the substitutes’ bench were: Bykowski, Halubek, Mokwa, Szymański, Krykun, Kądzior, Hateley, Kirejczyk and Huk.
In the first minutes of the match, the players from Gliwice had the advantage in possession of the ball. In the 9th minute of the match, Michael Ameyaw struck at the goal of Stala, but Mateusz Kochalski was able to cope with his shot. In the next two quarters of the meeting, possession of the ball evened out, but neither team managed to take the lead. After the first half of the game, the scoreboard read 0-0.
The second 45 minutes saw both teams start with the same line-ups. In the first minutes of the second half, the Piast team constructed attacks on Mateusz Kochalski’s goal several times, but none of them gave the lead to the team from Gliwice. In the 51st minute of the match, Czerwiński struck at PGE FKS Stala Mielec’s goal, but our goalkeeper was able to cope with his shot. In the 74th minute of the match, Maciej Domański struck at the Piast goal, unfortunately, the ball after his shot hit the crossbar. The team led by coach Kamil Kieres still had a chance to score in added time. Mateusz Stępień rallied with the ball towards Piast Gliwice’s penalty area, the ball after his pass was intercepted by Kai Meriuoto, but his shot was defended by Plach. The ball deflected by the Gliwice goalkeeper was intercepted by Maciej Domański, but he took a missed shot.
The meeting between PGE FKS Stal Mielec and Piast Gliwice ended in a goalless draw.
