Coach Kamil Kiereś decided that the following players would start the match in the starting eleven: Mrozek, Kasperkiewicz, Getinger, Żyra, Wlazło, Hiszpański, Domański, Hinokio and Ciepiela.
On the substitutes’ bench were: Guca, Mak, Kochalski, Lebedyński, Leandro, Sappinen, Vallejo, Wolski and Kruk.
Pogoń Szczecin’s trainer selected the following players: Stipica – Stolarski, Loncar, Zech, Borges – Bichakhchyan, Łęgowski, Gorgon, Kowalczyk, Grosicki (k) – Almqvist.
Reserves: Klebaniuk – Rezaeian, Kostas, Malec, Smolinski, Kurzawa, Rostami, Wędrychowski, Przyborek.
Unfortunately, the meeting played in Szczecin did not start well for the team from Mielec. Already in the third minute of the meeting, Marcin Flis touched the ball with his hand in the penalty area, and after the VAR analysis, the arbiter of the meeting decided to dictate a penalty kick for Pogoń Szczecin team. “Kamil Grosicki took the penalty, and from the 5th minute of the game, the scoreboard read 1-0. Despite losing the goal quickly, Kamil Kieres’ players did not stop attacking the Portowców goal, and in the 34th minute of the game, in Pogoń’s penalty area, Stipic fouled Piotr Wlazło. The penalty kick was taken by Maciej Domański, unfortunately the ball after his strike hit the post. In the last minute of the first half, Kamil Grosicki ran into the penalty area of the team from Mielec, the ball after his play hit Mateusz Matras and fell into Bartosz Mrozek’s goal. After the first half of the match, Pogoń Szczecin were leading 2-0.
At halftime, coach Kamil Kiereś decided to make changes to his squad, with Maciej Wolski and Rauno Sappinen replacing Piotr Wlazło and Fabian Hiszpański on the pitch. Just a few moments later, Sappinen had his first chance to score, but the ball after his strike just missed the post of Pogoń Szczecin’s goal. Unfortunately, in the 56th minute of the match, Bartosz Mrozek was fouled in the penalty area by Stal, and Sebastian Kowalczyk took the penalty kick. Although Stal was already trailing by three goals, the team from Mielec did not stop attacking and in the 60th minute Rauno Sappinen entered the scoring list. This was not the last “word” of our player in this match. Just 8 minutes later, our striker scored the second goal of the game. Unfortunately, in the 75th minute, the fourth goal was scored by the Pogoń Szczecin team, and the meeting eventually ended with the result 4:2.
