Widzew Łódź – PGE FKS Stal Mielec [0:2]

As part of the 27th PKO BP Ekstraklasa round, the PGE FKS Stal Mielec team played an away match against the Widzew Lodz team. The meeting was played on 8 April at 15:oo.

PGE FKS Stali Mielec coach Kamil Kiereś decided that the match in the starting eleven will start: Mrozek, Flis, Matras, Kasperkiewicz, Getinger, Żyra, Wlazło, Hiszpański, Domański, Mak and Ciepiela.
On the substitutes’ bench were: Guca, Hinokio, Kochalski, Lebedyński, Leandro, Sappinen, Vallejo and Wolski.

Widzew Łódź coach Janusz Niedźwiedź selected the following players for the first team: Ravas, Kreuzrigler, Szota, Stępiński, Ciganiks, Shehu, Hanousek, Milos, Pawłowski, Jordi S.R., and Sypek.
In addition, the match squad included: Wrąbel, Czorbajijski, Letniowski, Zawadzki, Kempinski, Kun, Zjawinski, Normann and Dawid.

The main referee of the match was Łukasz Kuźma, assisted on the sidelines by Arkadiusz Wójcik and Tomasz Niemirowski. The technical referee was Piotr Rzucidło and the VAR referees were Damian Sylwestrzak and Marcin Borkowski.

The first minutes of the match brought no threat to either Mrozek’s or Ravas’ goal. In the 10th minute of the match, after a pass from Marcin Flis, Ciepiela showed off with a fantastic shot at the rivals’ goal, giving the hosts’ goalkeeper no chance. The Widzew team responded in the 13th minute of the match, but a dangerous shot was defended by Bartosz Mrozek. 4 minutes later, Pawłowski shot at the goal of Stali, but the ball after his strike hit the post. In the 23rd minute of the match there was a forced change in the team of Stal, Fabian Hiszpański left the pitch due to an injury, and his place was taken by Maciej Wolski. In the following minutes of the meeting, it was the team from Łódź that held onto the ball longer, but it did not bring about a change in the result and two quarters of an hour saw the score 0-1. In the 35th minute of the match, a Widzew player was fouled by Marcin Flis, for which the referee punished him with a yellow card. Both teams still had their chances in the first half of the match, but the result did not change and after 45 minutes the PGE FKS Stali Mielec team was in the lead.

The second half of the match saw both teams start without any changes made. A yellow card was already given to Juljan Shehu in the 47th minute for discussions held with the match referee. In the 52nd minute of the meeting, Mateusz Mak decided to strike from outside the penalty area, and the ball after his shot found its way into Widzew Lodz’s goal. eight minutes later, Pawłowski struck at Mrozek’s goal, but the ball was knocked off the goal line by Maciej Wolski. Just a minute later Mateusz Mak had his chance for another goal, but the ball after his shot hit the post of Ravas’ goal. In the 66th minute of the match Widzew’s coach Janusz Niedźwiedź decided to make a triple change, Milos, Sypek, Shehu left the pitch and were replaced by Kun, Zjawiński and Letnikowski. 5 minutes later there were also three changes in our team. On the turf checked in: Vallejo, Hinokio and Sappinen, while Żyra, Mak and Ciepiela ended their appearance in this meeting. The following minutes of the meeting did not bring any more changes to the result and Kamil Kieres’ players could rejoice with the victory.
