Odra Opole – PGE FKS Stal Mielec [1:2]

on 26 September, the PGE FKS Stali Mielec team played an away match against Odra Opole. The team from Opole is the current leader of Fortuna 1 Liga.

This meeting started fantastically for the white and blue team. Already in the first minute of the match, a mix-up in the penalty area was exploited by Kai Meriliuoto, who with a shot on the ground beat Odra Opole’s goalkeeper. In the following minutes of the match, Alvis Jauzems and Matthew Guillaumier looked for their chances to score. Several times Odra Opole’s players came out with dangerous attacks on Jałocha’s goal, but none of their shots found their way into PGE FKS Stali Mielec’s net. In the 32nd minute of the match, the players of coach Kamil Kieres could rejoice from increasing the lead. Maciej Domański, playing in this meeting with the captain’s armband, fed the ball in from a corner kick, and it bounced off Dawid Czepliński and into Odra’s net. After the first half, the scoreboard read 0-2. In the second half, the only goal was scored in the 55th minute by Borja Galan for the home team. Both coaches decided to make a few rotations in their teams, but these did not change the result. The match ended with a score of 1-2 and it was the PGE FKS Stali Mielec team that could enjoy their promotion to the next round of the Fortuna Polish Cup.
