During today’s PKO BP Ekstraklasa Gala, it was announced that the best goalkeeper of the 2023/2024 season was selected PGE FKS Stali Mielec player – Mateusz Kochalski . Mateusz great, great and once again great white and blue congratulations!

MateuszKochalski appeared in 33 PKO BP Ekstraklasa matches in the 2023/2024 season, which ended on Saturday, and made a full-time appearance in each of the matches played. By the decision of the coaching staff, he did not appear only in the last match played in Łódź; however, this had already been agreed with our goalkeeper.

Mateusz repeatedly showed off with fantastic interventions, and in 9 games played he kept a ‘clean sheet’.

The PGE FKS Stali Mielec goalkeeper has been selected many times for the PKO BP Ekstraklasa eleven of the round and was awarded the title of the best footballer of the 33rd round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. The editors of TVP Sport have also selected our player for the eleven of the 2023/2024 season. He has also been awarded the title of MVP of the match many times in the votes of the white and blue fans.

In a recent interview with TVP Sport, when asked by Jakub Kluszejko if he felt he was the best goalkeeper of the season, he answered modestly:
– I’m not the one to judge that. There are people who know that. If I have to say whether I feel, I’d rather not answer that question. I’ve never been one to say that I consider myself better than anyone.

When asked by editor Jan Mazurek in an April interview with Weszło how to explain such a shot of form in 2024, he replied:

– Where did the firing come from? I don’t know. I think the autumn was an introduction to regular play. I had to catch my confidence. I wasn’t much worse in that round than I am now. Now I’ve certainly upped the number of clean sheets. I don’t like to judge goalkeepers in this category, because in Radomiak I was able to have twenty, in Stala I have seven, and I feel I am much better than I was. Neither penalty kicks nor clean sheets are an exponent of whether someone is very good or average at this job. This form is already one I would like to at least maintain.

Mateusz Kochalski started his football career at BKS Lublin and joined PGE FKS Stal Mielec on 21 June 2022.
